Passage Picker

The role of the Passage Picker

Your role is to choose at least 3 passages from this week’s reading that you would like to highlight for your group’s discussion.  Each passage should be a 1-3 sentences long.  Choose passages that you feel highlight a significant part of the story or gives insight into a character, setting, or the author or that will help them to remember a section which is interesting, powerful, funny, puzzling, or uses figurative language in an effective way.

You must record the passage and page number and include 1 to 2 paragraphs of your own writing to explain why you have chosen the passages and how they are significant to the story.

When you present the passages to the group, tell them the page number and read it aloud as they follow along.  You can even have your group members guess why you have chosen the passages that you did before you tell them.
